Instructions

  1. Change your perception of emotions.
    Consider negative feelings as messengers rather than enemies.
  2. Use messages your emotions are sending you.
    Stop trying to avoid, suppress, or deny your unpleasant emotions. Give them all of your attention, think deeply about them, and attempt to figure out what they're trying to tell you, why they occurred, and what you should change in your life to feel better.
  3. Don't identify with feelings.
    Accept emotions as signs, not as markers of your personality. Allow yourself to feel all emotions without attaching too much importance to them; just notice them and let them go.
