Be happy

Live in the present moment
Practice meditation and other mindfulness techniques to train your mind to focus on the present. Presence allows you to enjoy and be grateful for the moment. Living in the present moment keeps away the regrets of the past and the worries of the future. -
Cultivate inner peace by dealing with your anxieties
When you feel anxious, just notice the thought in your head and ask yourself, “Would I rather be having this thought right now or would I rather have inner peace?” Then consciously replace the thought with one that brings you peace. -
Choose your desires carefully
When you desire a new car, you’ve decided that you won’t be happy until you get it. Therefore, be conscious of your desires as the source of your unhappiness and choose them carefully. Pursue one major desire at a time rather than chasing too many things. Ensure that your desires are your own rather than from societal expectations. -
Learn to be content with what you have
Happiness and success are internal, so work more on your internal self instead of pursuing external things. Work to acquire enough money to take care of your needs and then some, and then exit the money-chasing game. The longer you stay in the game trying to resolve all your external problems or seek validation, the longer you’ll be unhappy. -
Embrace good habits instead of thoughtless bad habits
Commit to a life of good habits that increase long-term happiness rather than those that only bring short-term pleasure. For example, surround yourself with positive people you admire and respect, get more sunlight, meditate, exercise, and minimize your judgment of others. You can also minimize your consumption of alcohol, caffeine, sugar and social media to help keep your mood stable. -
Look for the positive in the negative events that happen to you
If you’re running late for a meeting, ask yourself, “How does being late benefit me?” Maybe you get to relax and watch birds. Maybe you get a few minutes to sit still and listen to what the Universe is saying. You can train your brain to find the positive side of any annoyance.
