Become a Challenger and engage the full brain power of your team

Challenge the assumptions.
Disrupt the prevailing logic in your organization. Ask your team unsettling questions that rattle their assumptions and enable them to see market opportunities and threats differently. For example, if the prevailing belief is that the organization can never go bankrupt due to government funding and support, ask questions that assume support will end soon. This will challenge them to think of scenarios they could never have imagined. -
Let others fill in the blanks.
Once you’ve challenged their assumptions by asking them unsettling questions, it’s important that you let them answer these questions rather than providing the answers yourself. Provide just enough information to provoke thinking and then help them discover and see the answers and opportunities for themselves. -
Generate belief.
It isn’t enough that they see and understand the opportunities; they need to actually seize them. Encourage them to do this by orchestrating small, early wins; celebrating every little milestone on a project to boost team morale and keep them believing that the end goal will be eventually achieved.
