Build and launch your product
Instructions
-
Create your minimum viable product (MVP).
If it’s in an empty market, your MVP can be simple to build, as your product will be the first solution to the market. Here, you don’t need to focus much on adding extra features and interfaces. However, if it’s in a crowded market, you need to pay attention to these aspects. Focus on adding extra features and user interfaces that will set you apart from your competitors. -
Decide whether you’ll launch to the public or make your product accessible through an invite or application form.
If you’re in an empty market, it’s best to use an ‘invite strategy’ to make your product seem exclusive and makes people want to try it. If you’re in a crowded market, the ‘application-form strategy’ is recommended. It makes your product seem exclusive and allows you to onboard users manually, share your mission, and ask for their feedback. However, if these approaches aren’t aligned with your goals, or you want to reach a wider audience, you may opt to launch your product to the public. -
Create a Slack community for feedback sharing.
Once you have active users, invite them to the community and ask them to share their feedback there. -
Advertise your product.
Start with your network - explain the value of your product to the people you know, and ask them to recommend you to others. -
Decide if you want to offer lifetime deals through AppSumo.
Write down the benefits and disadvantages of this approach, and assess whether it’s something you would like to do.
