Build a rockstar environment.

When you treat people like children, they will act like children. If they need permission to do something, then you sent the message, “I don’t trust you.” And ultimately, you develop non-thinkers.

1. Give people freedom in how they do things.
   Your responsibility is to give them an environment that respects who they are and how they do work.

2. People cannot focus for eight hours a day. So, it doesn’t make any sense to ban YouTube or social networking sites.
   If you ban certain sites, people will simply find other sites where they can relax for a moment.

3. Don’t set policies or write a rule book.
   No one will read or follow it anyway.

4. Don't ask people to work after 5 pm or to work after hours from their homes.
   You don’t need more work hours. You need better work hours.

5. When you communicate things, don't be afraid to be yourself.
   Don’t wear a mask or try to sound too professional, too formal, or artificial. Instead, sound like yourself.

6. Don’t use these 4-letter words: need, must, can’t, easy, just, only, and fast.
   They suggest there is a black-and-white situation; however, this is rarely the case.

7. Don’t say ASAP.
   Instead, prioritize everything to see what is really important.
