Create a detailed life plan
Instructions
- Design your legacy to shape your future.
Analyze what kind of legacy you will leave behind. Imagine attending your funeral. Think about how you want to be remembered once you pass away. What would you like your family, friends, and work associates to say? Describe how you want to be remembered by each group. This will help you discover your life values and live according to them. - Create Life Accounts.
Write down a list of Life Accounts that are important to you. Then, go through this list. Consider where you are now and where you want to be in every area of your life. Check if each Life Account is overdrawn, balanced, or declining. You may, for example, notice that the business area of your life is overbooked and your diet is balanced, but your family life is suffering. Prioritize your accounts - write down the ones most important to you first. - Define the path to balanced Life Accounts.
Divide each Life Account into the following categories:- Statement of purpose - specify what your purpose is for this Life Account. For example, Love Life Account: My purpose is to be my husbands' soul mate and the love of his life.
- The ideal future - describe the account when it’s working at its best—as if it’s already a reality. An example of a Health Life Account: I'm slim and strong, and my health and fitness are excellent.
- Inspirational quote - find a quotation that relates to the essence of your future purpose and inspires you.
- Current situation - evaluate the present status of each life account with all honesty. Don't overthink it; just jot down whatever comes to mind. Describe what you would like to improve.
- My commitments - Write down the concrete steps you will take in each life account to get from where you are now to where you want to be in the future (from your current state to your imagined future).
