Declutter your home
Instructions
- Remove trash.
Place whatever trash you can see in your black trash bag. - Put things back in their place.
Find the simple things and return them (right now) where they belong. - Manage the “duh” clutter.
Choose a box for items you no longer need but want to donate because they are not for throwing away, and then place all of the "duh things" in it. - Ask decluttering questions.
Take each item and answer the question: “Where would be the first place I'd look for this item if I needed it?” If you know the answer, put that thing in that place. If not, answer the next question: “Would it occur to me that I already had one if I needed this item?” If your answer is no, throw it away or put it in the donation box. - Use containers.
Put similar things in containers. If the place you're working in is still full, keep taking out your less favorite items until just what will fit comfortably remains. - Follow the “One in, one out rule.”
Before adding one new thing to a container that’s already full, take one out first.
