Develop a love map.
Happily married couples don’t just know each other, they build on and enhance this knowledge. Continuing to get to know each other more deeply helps establish intimacy and a lasting bond that grows each day.
Instructions
-
Each spouse should take a piece of paper and write down 20 simple but important questions that they would like to know about their partner.
Be curious. Be courageous. Is there a question you’ve always wanted to ask? Be honest. Are you surprised to find that you don’t know your spouse’s favorite meal? No time like the present to ask! Some possible questions include, “What is your favorite color?”, “What is your favorite holiday?”, and “What was one of your best family vacations growing up?” -
Set aside a large block of time for you and your spouse to take turns asking each other questions.
Write down the answers if it helps you remember them. -
Do this once a week for a month.
Each time, write a new list of 20 questions. Take time to enjoy all the surprising things you didn’t know about each other.
