Instructions

  1. Personify your “inner roommate.”
    Pretend for a day that you have a mental roommate, and your thoughts are what the roommate is saying. This will help you to observe the nature of your thought somewhat objectively. Is your roommate helpful? Annoying? Discouraging? Consider whether you would like this roommate to be in charge of your life!
  2. Continually ask yourself, “Who am I?”
    Are you your possessions and achievements? Are you a given thought or emotion? Who are you? Use this question to guide you to the seat of your consciousness, the place of pure awareness. Ask yourself this question throughout the day.
