Find other ways to satisfy your need for significance and contribution
Instructions
-
Take more pleasure in the work you love than in the work you do for money.
Spend more time with your family, raising your children. Explore your creative side, doing volunteer work or helping others. Sharing your inner gifts with others is one of the best ways to feel a sense of significance and contribution. -
Become comfortable answering the “What do you do?” question with who you are.
Talk about what you enjoy doing instead—the passions that make you want to jump out of bed in the morning. Take control of such conversations and steer them in this direction by asking what they enjoy doing as well. It makes for more meaningful and interesting connections. -
Believe that you’re worth it.
Constantly remind yourself that you’re deserving of financial freedom. It doesn’t have to be tied to the work you do for a living or the amount of work you put in daily. It has to do with making wise money decisions that may often go against society’s standards.
