Become aware of your choices and make better ones
Instructions
- Pick an area of your life where you most want to be successful.
- Track every action that relates to that area.
If you’ve decided to get out of debt, for example, you’re going to track every penny you pull from your pocket. If you’ve decided you want to lose weight, you’re going to track everything you put in your mouth. You can use useful phone apps for this, or you could simply carry a small notebook in your pocket to keep records. - Review your past actions weekly.
Look over your tracking at the end of every week, and identify helpful actions to continue and harmful ones to quit. Track for at least three weeks — that’s about how long it takes to form a habit, and you want to form a new habit of tracking! - Introduce this practice into other areas of your life.
Once you’ve become aware of your choices in one area of your life through tracking, the next step is to introduce it to other areas you wish to improve.
