Instructions

  1. Develop a meaningful emotional relationship with someone.
    This can be done with a close friend, significant other, or therapist.

  2. Share your feelings with them.
    Tell them about your experience with your story's painful or pleasant events.

  3. Choose an affirmation as you nurture your relationship.
    For example, If you are afraid that the people you need won’t show up, say, “I am loved no matter what—even when people mess up.”, or If you avoid connection when you are hurt, say, “It’s okay to ask for help.”
