Identify Yellow behavior
from Surrounded by Idiots: The Four Types of Human Behavior and How to Effectively Communicate with Each in Business by Thomas Erikson
How to Apply This
- Identify whether the person you’re interacting with has Yellow behavior by asking yourself the following questions:
a. Do they get on with everybody?
The easiest way to identify a Yellow is to see how they interact with strangers. If they instantly make conversation and easily get on with people from all walks of life, they’re probably a Yellow. They are also likely to have a large social circle.
b. Are they always positive?
Pay attention to how they react in bad situations: Are they always searching for the positives? Do they always seem happy, even when things are stressful?
c. Are they resourceful and adaptable?
Yellow people’s positive attitude makes them very resourceful and adaptable. When life throws a curveball, do they instantly adapt and start finding solutions?
d. Are they persuasive?
Yellow people get on well with everybody, and they’re incredibly positive, which makes them very persuasive. They make great salespeople and usually get their way in most situations, but they do this without dominating people.
