Keep your expectations from impacting your life

Instructions

  1. Drop your expectations from other people.
    Don't expect people always to be kind and friendly or see you in the best light. Expect nothing from everyone; this will prevent you from being disappointed and hurt.

  2. Let go of your attachments to people or their opinions about you.
    Understand that you have the power not to let people and things affect your feelings. Don't get attached to the image that others have of you.

  3. Don't do something just to please someone and to meet someone's expectations.
    Do things you love and not those that just serve to impress others, as it will just strengthen your dependence on their opinions of you.

  4. Say no to people and live your life by your rules, but don’t demand other people to change.

  5. Just observe your feelings instead of identifying with them.
    Analyze your emotions as if you are observing another person and do not identify with them. Don't give yourself labels such as "I am depressed." Instead, just notice: "I am currently feeling depressed or down."
