Make tidying up a habit
Instructions
- Identify what brings you joy at work.
Think about your day at work in detail. What makes you happy at work? What values are important to you? Write your answers down. For example, “I like learning new things, and I seek out challenges at work." “I value earning praise from the people I work with. I enjoy helping others at work. My planner sparks joy." - Choose what to keep and what to discard.
Gather all your things by type and decide which ones to keep and throw away. Remember to keep things that make you feel happy, things that bring functional delight or are essential at work, and things that lead to future joy. If something doesn’t fall into any of these categories, discard them. - Tidy up all in one go.
Tidy up your whole workplace by category at once. Decide where to put the things you're keeping. Choose a place for everything in your workspace. - Make tidying your pre-work habit.
Tidy up early in the morning each day before you start your work. Make this your habit, and you’ll be more productive at work!
