Perform the “Do Nothing” meditation
Instructions
-
Set a five to ten-minute timer.
-
Sit down on a chair for five to ten minutes without doing anything.
Every time you catch yourself doing something else, such as thinking, focusing on your breathing, or even criticizing yourself for what you’re doing, immediately stop it and return to doing nothing until the timer goes off. -
Perform the “Do Nothing” meditation regularly.
It’s best to schedule it on your calendar so you won’t forget to perform the meditation daily. Once you get better at doing it, you’ll regain your autonomy – resisting attempts to evade reality, feeling peaceful, and making better life choices.
