Reawaken your motivation

Instructions

  1. Write down a goal you want to achieve

  2. Break it down into smaller interim goals
For example, if you have a five-year plan for your career, define what you expect to achieve every year. Write it down.

  3. Publicly commit to your interim goals
Tell a friend about it, and ask them to check in on you around the deadline.

  4. End your day partway through a task with a clear next step for tomorrow
Whenever your drive feels low, end your day when you’re halfway through something. As long as you know what you need to do tomorrow, you’ll feel more motivated to do it.

  5. Visually track your progress with a calendar to remind yourself of how far you’ve come
The simplest way to do this is to cross off each day you worked towards your goal. It doesn’t matter how small your efforts were, as long as you took even one step forwards, cross that day off.

  6. Picture how your work could help someone
Knowing that your work will have a positive impact on others can help you feel motivated again
