Set and achieve goals
Instructions
- Set specific and realistic goals.
Instead of saying, “I'm gonna get up and run a little while, then lift some weights.” say, “I'll run two miles every day, work with a trainer to create an optimal strength training routine for five days a week, and I'll change my diet to a lean protein and plant-based menu.” - Understand your “why.”
Have a specific and simple reason for your goal. For example, Instead of saying, “I want to meditate because it’s good for my health,” you can say, “I want to meditate because I have people that need me, and I can savor life and avoid the most common regrets.” - Set standards.
Be measured and transparent with yourself when developing your standards. Start at a place that makes sense for you, and then upgrade your standards once you make progress. - Get help in areas where you're weak.
If you are struggling to understand or do something, ask for help. For example, If you cannot exercise consistently, find yourself a workout body that will hold you accountable to your goal. - Repeat your goals.
You can use tools such as affirmations, visualization, and vision boards to reinforce repetition and work on your goals at a fixed time every day.
