Treat others with grace

Instructions

  1. Keep your discipline personal.
Remember, it’s called self-discipline for a reason. Avoid forcing those around you to follow the high standards you set for yourself. Practice your disciplines personally; if you’re consistent enough, they might become contagious.
  2. Always contextualize.
Avoid judging too quickly. Always give others the benefit of the doubt. And constantly remind yourself that their training, experience, standards, and life choices differ from yours.
  3. Be quick to forgive.
Sometimes, others may attack you for your choices out of their insecurities or ignorance. Be quick to forgive them for this but never lower your standards.
  4. Seek what to applaud.
Give others credit for their efforts, even when the outcome isn’t exactly what you want. Avoid being critical. Most people already know when they’re wrong and don’t need you harping on it.
  5. Judge yourself by your actions and others by their intentions.
  6. Offer help only when it’s asked for.
    Avoid giving unsolicited advice.
