Use six practices to build strong self-esteem
Instructions
- Live consciously.
Don't let your unconscious biases, and false past ideas about your worth and what you want to control you. Act, come to conclusions, and make decisions based on what's happening around you. - Accept yourself.
Understand yourself as a person like any other, complete with faults and virtues, and refrain from evaluating or criticizing any aspect of your identity or personality. - Be responsible.
Recognize that your happiness and sense of worth are entirely up to you. Don't let others' thoughts, beliefs, or words control how you live; instead, take charge of your life. - Be assertive.
Stand up for yourself without being defensive, because assertiveness is part of confidence. - Live purposefully.
Live mindfully and intentionally. Be present and make conscious decisions about how you spend your time. Realize that your "purpose" is just to exist at this moment and engage in whatever it is that you're doing. Doing this gives each day meaning since it is something you have produced for yourself rather than waited for or searched for. - Define your integrity.
Maintain a particular level of morality, ethics, and responsibility. Create your own rules of behavior instead of just following the ones you were taught. Even when things are hard, look at your options with an open mind.
