Use ‘The Movie Technique’ to achieve your goals
Instructions
-
Identify a goal.
Pick a life goal that you want to achieve. This can be related to work or your private life, but it needs to be a specific aim (getting a promotion, for example) rather than a general thought pattern like low self-esteem. -
Sit quietly and close your eyes.
Find somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed and close your eyes. -
Visualize your desired outcome as a detailed ‘movie.’
Think about the outcome of achieving your goal and what your life will look like. View it in your head as a ‘movie.’ For example, if you aim to be promoted at work, you could picture yourself moving into your new office or treating the family to a holiday with your next paycheck. The more details you can include in your ‘movie,’ the more effective this technique will be. -
Repeat daily.
Do this once a day until you reach your goal. You can then start focusing on the next goal.
